Layne Beachley AO is one of the most decorated surfers in history, winning seven World Surfing Championship titles — including six consecutive from 1998 to 2003 — making her the first surfer of any gender to achieve that feat. Born in Sydney and raised in Manly, she turned professional at 16 and overcame significant personal adversity to reach the pinnacle of her sport. In 2003 she founded the Aim for the Stars Foundation, providing grants and mentoring to help girls and women achieve their goals, and she has since become a prominent speaker and advocate for mental health and peak performance.
