A former Kookaburras midfielder who earned 143 international caps and won bronze at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Adam Commens built a distinguished coaching career on both sides of the world. Appointed head coach of the Hockeyroos in 2011, he led the women's team to gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, silver at the 2014 World Cup, and back-to-back Oceania Cup titles. After the 2016 Rio Olympics, he returned to Belgium as High Performance Director, overseeing the Red Lions' rise to World Cup gold in 2018 and Olympic gold in 2021.
